Dental İmplant In Turkey
What is the meaning of dental implant?
To describe in a sentence, dental implants can be defined as artificial tooth roots.
Dental implants made entirely of titanium are placed in the jawbone, in an operation that takes about 10 minutes.
After fusing with the jawbone, the implant can remain in the mouth for a lifetime, and looks and functions the same as your natural teeth as long as the necessary maintenance is done.
When positioned correctly, implants will not be different from your natural teeth.
Can dental implant be applied to every patient?
The implant can be performed in all patients as long as they have no problem with their general body health such as uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension, and cancer.
As an exception, implant treatment cannot be performed in active cancer patients and in cases where some special drugs are used. Please inform your physician of such special situations during implant treatments.
How does the process work in dental implant treatment?
Your implants are placed in the jawbone sometimes after tooth extraction, and sometimes during the session of tooth extraction. Where applicable, temporary teeth are prepared in accordance with the patient’s request, and after 3-6 months, when your implants fuses with the jawbone, your permanent teeth are prepared by taking measurements.
My jawbone is inadequate. Can implants be placed in it?
In cases where the jawbone is inadequate, it is required to prepare a ground, where the implant can be placed, just like a building foundation. There are many methods for this process, from the use of artificial bone powders to bone production studies carried out with the patient’s own bone parts. These methods are selected depending on the general health status of the patient, the character of the bone loss, and the patient’s wishes; and then the implant treatment is performed.
Is implant treatment expensive?
Implant treatments are partly expensive treatments due to their material costs higher than those of other dental treatments. Do not consider excessively low-cost implant treatment options offered to you. The implant treatment is an extremely meticulous procedure that requires care at every stage from surgery to implant placement. It is unlikely to expect such a treatment option to be low-cost.
How long is the life of the implant and is it guaranteed?
After fusing with the jawbone, dental implants can be used throughout life if they are used carefully, and if care is taken for proper oral hygiene and the use of dental floss.
However, some problems may arise in implants due to inadequate oral hygiene and deterioration in the general condition of the patient. In such non-physician-induced cases, implant treatments are considered out of warranty coverage. It is completely unrealistic to rely on people who give a lifetime guarantee in all conditions.
While a 2-year warranty is given even when an electronic device is purchased, giving a lifetime warranty for an environment like mouth, where many dynamics coexist, is nothing more than a marketing strategy.
Does an implant cause cancer?
Since implants are made of completely tissue-compatible titanium material, they definitely have no such an effect.
Is implant treatment painful?
Implant treatment is a completely painless procedure performed under local anesthesia. It does not cause pain if the appropriate amount of anesthesia is administered.
I am diabetic. Can I have an implant treatment?
The first question we ask diabetic people before dental implantation is whether diabetes is under control. The most important method to ascertain this is the HbA1c test. Your test result should not exceed 6 units.
What is the importance of the implant brand?
When having implant treatment, definitely ask your physician about the origin of the implant, its certificates and barcode numbers. There are many high quality implants on the market, as well as many dental implants that have not passed satisfactory tests and have not proven their adequacy.
Is fail probable in dental implantation?
As with all kinds of medical practice, there is a probability of failure in dental implantation as well. Today, the success rate in implant treatment is about 95 percent.
However, implant failure may occur in some cases. Smoking and alcohol consumption are the biggest factors in this regard.
Does smoking and alcohol consumption harm the implant?
It is known with certainty that regular consumption of alcohol and excessive smoking have negative effects on implant health. If you smoke and use alcohol, this does not mean that you cannot have implants, but you must accept the fact that the success rate of implants in your mouth will be lower.
Do implants prevent us from having an MRI?
Since titanium materials are non-responsive to magnetism, they are not harmful during MRI scans.
